These are the technicals for my collection.
The garments feature linen jackets and vest, cardigan, t-shirt with huge neck that can be pulled over the head, scoop neck snap-up tshirt, half button up shirt with sideseam pockets, low slung asymmetrical tank, chinos, gusset crotch shorts, cowel neck tshirt and drop crotch shorts.

This is the collection that I’m working on for the next two semesters in my final year at Ryerson University. My menswear line is called ‘Sofronov’; it is the masculine version of my name (meaning my father and brothers are Sofronov whereas my mom and I are Sofronova.
We are in the muslin stage where every week one outfit is due, meaning I’m typically sewing three garments each week for five weeks straight.

It is the first week of school and Ryerson has already set up a great Q&A for us: Dean and Dan of DSquared2! This was moderated by Jeannie Becker from Fashion Television and Robert Ott who is the Chair of School of Fashion here at Ryerson University. The event took place at the AMC theater Friday morning and was exclusive to the fashion school and only to the students who answered the skill testing question correctly: where were Dean and Dan born? Canada… duh!

In the spring I recently finished my third year at Ryerson University. For our third year show we were put into groups and made a collection together. This consisted of a three-piece outfit for each member. We called our collaboration Charlie Slate.
